Scaffolding done

By 11:00, most of the scaffolding was already done
At about 07:30 this morning (ie. 2013-05-03) http://www.geruestbau-aschenbrenner.de/ started working on putting up the scaffolding around the house. They were finished and gone by 12:00 - can't say anything about that really - highly efficient.

Other than that, I was in Nuremberg yesterday, but Uli managed to fill the foundation for the wall on the ground floor. He had to take out the two doors (party room) and fix a long board into place. Then the foundation was filled with concrete, using steel pins on each side and more steel in the middle. The foundation is now ideal to build on, but we'll need a couple of days to let it set enough to be able to put weight on.

Concrete base for the wall we are going to build
This morning we went and got a crate of bricks from Raiffeisen in Taufkirchen. We picked them up with the tractor. The fit into the back bucket, but the weight of them (about a tonne) made the tractor do wheelies on the way home. We managed to get them back without too much trouble, so that's another job we can do soon.

The next thing on my list is to pour the concrete into the casing above the bedroom door. The weight of the old roof is bearing down (through the joist) a bit - but nothing more than it did for years. I'd rather that the concrete be properly set there though, before the weight of the new roof comes down.
